You need to upgrade your Flash Player The theme of this blog is not only and obviously space, but in particular “terrestrial worlds”, places that tend to have surfaces on which one could walk or at least attach oneself to. These places sometimes also have other earth-like familiar features such as atmospheres, weather, volcanos, geysers and perhaps, we are finding, even exotic oceans, rivers or lakes that are not necessarily made of familiar materials we are used to here at home. The second theme is imagery. Occasionally I do some retouching of images when needed if an image is incomplete or sometimes “dirty” or noisy. I will attempt to correct image shortcomings based upon other images or well-accepted presumed attributes. When this is done, notes will be offered as to what was added, why and sometimes how it was done. This way no one should ever wonder if something they are looking at is real or photoshop.

Wallpaper: Martian Water Ice

Wallpaper: Frozen Water on Mars
Trying to think of the best image to post for Christmas, I figured this snowy looking crater on Mars would do. Not nearly as exciting as the recently discovered flowing water on Mars, but for an alien winter scene… it’ll do.

Is that really water ice? I thought they only recently discovered water on Mars?

  2. thomas Says:

they have known for some time that there is frozen water on mars… what was seen recently is direct evidence of liquid moving water on mars. the difference between frozen and liquid COULD be a dead mars or a mars with some kind of current-day life-forms.

awesome. i couln’t said it better myself. this person is obviously flabberghasted by the image above. its odd they took the time to type that reaction.

  5. JASMIN Says:

I THINK THAT IS NOT TRUE IF SOMEONE DID SEND THAT HOW WOULD THEY HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY TO SEND IT. IF IT IS TRUE THEN WHY HASN’T THE GOVERNMENT TOLD US SOMETHING. ARE THEY HIDING IT FROM US?

  6. thomas Says:

I’m not even sure of how to respond to that. IF THIS PERSON IS CURIOUS AS TO THE PERSPECTIVE. THEY MIGHT WANT TO KNOW THAT THE SURFACE HAS BEEN IMAGED AND TOPOGRAPHICALLY MAPPED. ESA THEN COMBINES THIS INFORMATION TO CREATE REALISTIC 3-D RENDERS.

Well…… I strongly belive that this can be really fake.

  8. thomas Says:

and maybe you both also believe in angels and fairies. one person who’s images are often posted here is jason perry and he works directly for NASA and i doubt he is spending all his time calibrating fake images to look real.

however, i will admit that i assume this image in particular is enhanced to make the ice look more blue.

to think space imagery is fake would require all the world to be in on the “joke” as now Europe, China, Japan… etc, are all involved on these missions as well.

i belive in aliens, i also belive that there are 16 plants in the universe that have life. But beliving on that where there is water there should be life is nonsense. Becouse, if there will be any life in the universe there must be some other type of emergance of life, living style and atmosphere.

This photo is real and over twelve months old, at the time it suggested water ice but could have been from frozen co2 or other compound

  11. Dan Says:

btw give me a celestial list of where these 16 life bearing planets are. maybe seti would appreciate them too
